Residential Foundation Pit Reinforcement
The brief
One of ERTI's earliest major projects — foundation pit reinforcement for a residential building at Paliashvili St. 87 in Tbilisi's Vake district, delivered in 2017 in partnership with Domus Development. The project established ERTI's presence in the premium residential segment of Tbilisi's construction market.
The challenge
Vake is one of Tbilisi's most densely built residential districts, with closely spaced buildings and underground utilities in every direction. Excavating a deep foundation pit in this environment required tight perimeter control to prevent ground movement from affecting neighbouring structures, while noise and vibration constraints ruled out aggressive piling methods.
Our approach
ERTI installed a continuous steel sheet pile wall around the foundation pit perimeter using Giken press-in technology — ensuring zero vibration impact on the surrounding residential buildings. The sheet pile wall provided both lateral earth retention and groundwater cutoff for the duration of the excavation.
